Meet the Silvers
We got back Monday night from a trip to Hilton Head with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Rob & Aunt Sherry, Aunt Ally, and cousins Lauren, Rachel, Anna and Benjamin.
Phoebe couldn't walk two steps without bumping into one of her adoring throng. Phoebe continues to take better to women than men, so dad, Grandpa, and Uncle Rob took a back seat to Phoebe's cousins and her "Aunt"ourage (that little sniglet works, pronunciation-wise, if you grew up in Boston or thereabouts; those of you in the rest of the country who think "aunt" is a homophone for "ant" will just have to take my word for it).
Phoebe loved the beach, which comes as little surprise. She always wants to be outside, and there aren't many better places to be outside than a really good beach.
Phoebe's love of music continues apace as well. Whenever she hears music (in the store, on the radio, you name it), she'll stop what she's doing in order to dance. Alesa and I often take advantage of this trait to distract Phoebe from destructive activity around the house. While on vacation, we had a whole chorus of (tin-eared) Silvers to sing along with us.
Music also came in handy getting to and from Hilton Head. We drove, breaking the trip at my brother's house near Charlotte in each direction. We weren't sure how Phoebe would do on long distance road trips, but she was a trouper. We brought along a wide range of CDs, children's music as well as many of our favorites. Phoebe liked pretty much anything we played as long as it was somewhat uptempo. Within the confines of her car-seat/prison, she bopped along to pretty much anything.
I'll add some photos to this post as soon as possible, but I'm working on a computer without a USB port for the next several days.
