We Interrupt the Phoebe Philes . . .
. . . to note a sad anniversary. Forty years ago today, Bobby Kennedy was taken to his eternal rest. If you've never seen his speech announcing Martin Luther King's death to a largely black crowd in Indianapolis, where he was campaigning that night, it's below. It was was completely ad-libbed, and was one of the greatest political speeches of our lifetimes.
Today would be a good day to go to Barack Obama's website and contribute to the campaign of the first politician since Bobby Kennedy to evoke as much hope about America's future.
We now return to our regularly scheduled Phoebe news.
