Introducing . . . Phoebe Rose Silver

Today, at approximately 10:45 a.m. local time (12:45 this morning on the East Coast), we became the legal parents of Phoebe Rose. This photo was taken during our first visit, in February. In truth, we've thought of ourselves as her parents at least since then.

We put quite a bit of thought into her name. I'll share those thoughts in due course. Rather than steal my own thunder from her baby naming ceremony, however, I'll make just two observations now. First, while we chose a name that we think is beautiful, that was not the sole criterion. Second, the t.v. show Friends, while a favorite of ours, had less than nothing to do with our choice of Phoebe for our daughter. Much more to come.
