Settling In
We've been home a week, and all is well. We've retrofitted Phoebe to sippy cups -- we love convenience as much as the next parent. Phoebe had her first pediatrician's appointment yesterday, and didn't much care for the experience, but we love her doctor. Thankfully, all appears to be well.
We've taken her out on several other, more enjoyable expeditions since she's been home. She made her debut at shul last Shabbat, and was an angel. She bopped her head to the music (she does this for any music, even Dad's execrable singing) and was not afraid of the many people who came up to greet her. She's at the grocery store with Mom right now.
At home, Phoebe eschews the three rooms full of toys and books in favor of investigating how the house is put together and and how best to take it apart. She loves to grab the bars of the stairway gates and rattle them like a prisoner in jail. We're torn between discouraging this not cool behavior and laughing until we choke. (Actually, only the first time or two she did it; discouraging the uncool behavior now wins easily).
More photos to come soon. Most of the action happens downstairs, but the digital was upstairs on the desk for several days after I downloaded the Russia photos. So all the recent pix were taken on film. I'm posting a Russia pic with this post for now.
